When Credo became aware that the heterodox Association of US Catholic Priests (AUSCP) was holding their 2019 convention at the St. Louis Mariott we knew that a call to action was needed. Of course, without Our Lord we can do nothing, so our first order of business, as always was prayer.
Members gathered at the St. Louis Mariott at 4 pm, listened to a short talk by Michael Hichborn, founder & president of the Lepanto Institute, who had been investigating the AUSCP for 2 years.
Then we all gathered in prayer, ending with a rosary in a call for graces for those being led astray by the wiles of Satan and his minions, and for Our Church, which is under such severe attack in these dangerous times.
Those who could stay for awhile to meet in the lobby with Michael Hichborn were in for a treat. Mr. Hichborn talked freely with us and answered questions about his recent research(?) trip to Rome over beers and snacks.
One of the things that stood out for me was the look he got from someone passing by. He was apparently well known and was an unwelcome guest at the hotel per those attending the convention. It would appear that they do not appreciate any light being shown upon their activities.
He said that one time he was walking down one of the halls and was told that he was not allowed in that area. The woman said that the hotel had promised them that if he showed up they could press the zero key on a phone that she held up for him to see, and security would come and escort him out. Surprised, he asked her why, and she replied that some of their materials had gone missing and they suspected that he was the culprit.
That’s seems rather incongruous as they have a table full of their materials on display. They obviously encourage guests to take free copies. It is hard to believe that anyone would steal such literature in any quantities and if they didn’t want people to have one, why offer them to the general public?
Of course it’s not hard to see why he’s considered persona non grata by the AUSCP. He has been investigating them and exposing their heterodox ideology and actions for years.
As a side note, I asked him whether he had heard any of the rumors of Satanic rituals having been performed in the Vatican. He said that not only had he heard the rumors, but had personally spoken with people who said that they had been eyewitnesses to that.
