Fr. Michael John WittWe are pleased to announce that the Reverend Michael John Witt has agreed to serve on Credo’s Advisory Board. The Board of Directors look to advisors to help guide our direction and choose speakers. Fr. Witt is Associate Professor of Church History at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, and is a very popular lecturer around town. Fr. Witt last spoke to Credo in 2006 when he gave a talk titled “Christianity under Attack “. And it still is.

Fr. Witt was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Saint Louis in 1990. Before that he served the Church for twenty-two years as a Christian Brother teaching in Oklahoma, Missouri and Tennessee. He holds a Ph.D. in Modern European History from Saint Louis University and a Masters in Divinity from Kenrick-Glennon Seminary. He has served the archdiocese as associate pastor, pastor and Director of Continuing Formation for Priests. Besides publishing two books on Catholic topics and contributing journal articles, there is his 169-part series of audio recordings on Catholic Church history, which may be downloaded here.

Besides his teaching duties at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, he is the Director for Permanent Deaconate of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis and Director of the Kolbe House, a residence for Catholic men discerning their vocation.

On a lighter note, Fr. Witt is a great dog lover, and wrote a book of reflections titled I and Dog: Photos and Reflections worthy of Meditation, which is available from Amazon.com.
